Mind on A Mission
Mission must be motivated by Love for God, and then love for others.
We can raise millions of dollars, feed thousands of people, etc. but if it is not motivated by love it amounts to nothing on our behalf. God must remain more important than any work we do for Him. Loving Him with all . . . is a guardrail to prevent us from going off the cliff into turning the work into an idol. Additionally serving others as if they are beneath us, or without care for them as people, can undermine the value and credibility of that work, and prevent God’s goodness from being seen. Loving others helps us to understand going beyond our comfort zone to sacrificial serving. This is unconditional love serving through grace, because we are always reminded of us first being loved unconditionally by God. Solely undeserved. So we may be challenged to serve others who we feel do not deserve help, or a 2nd chance.
Matthew 22:36 Matthew 22:37 And He said to him, “‘YOU SHALL LOVE THE LORD YOUR GOD WITH ALL YOUR HEART, AND WITH ALL YOUR SOUL, AND WITH ALL YOUR MIND.’ Matthew 22:38 “This is the great and foremost commandment. Matthew 22:39 “The second is like it, ‘YOU SHALL LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOURSELF."
