Essential Truths

God

◊ Genesis 1:1, 26, 27;3:22
◊ Psalm 90:2
◊ Matthew 28:19
◊ I Peter 1:2
◊ II Corinthians 13:14
◊ Deut 6:4

We believe there is ONE God who is eternally existent in three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.

Man

◊ Genesis 1:27
◊ Psalm 8:3-6
◊ Isaiah 53:6a
◊ Romans 3:23
◊ Isaiah 59:1-2

We believe that man is created in the image and likeness of God, which includes a free will.  God personally and purposefully created every human being.  But as a result of choosing to sin, man became separated from God, losing their sense of identity in relation to God, each other, the world around them and therefore lost, in need of a savior.  Man although in need of a savior was powerless to save himself. Additionally as a consequence of his sin, he became dead (Death meaning separation from God) in trespasses and sins, and becoming subject to the power of the devil, the man Christ Jesus being the only exception.  Therefore man was in need of a way to be rescued from the bondage of sin, and its potential end result of eternal separation from God.

Eternity

◊ John 3:16
◊ I John 2:25 & 5:11-13
◊ Romans 6:23
◊ Revelation 20:15

Man was created to exist forever. He will either exist eternally separated from God because of sin, or in union with God, through forgiveness and salvation. Man now has a choice, to be eternally separated from God in Hell, or to be eternally in union with Him, which is eternal life.

Jesus Christ

◊ Matthew 1:22-23
◊ Isaiah 9:6
◊ John 1:1-5 & 14:10-30
◊ Hebrews 4:14-15
◊ I Corinthians 15:3-4
◊ Romans 1:3-4
◊ Acts 1:9-11
◊ I Timothy 6:14-15
◊ Titus 2:13

Jesus Christ is the Son of God. Jesus was born of a virgin, whose name was Mary. He lived a sinless human life and offered Himself as the perfect sacrifice for the sins of all men by dying on a cross. God raised Him from the dead, body and all; He ascended into Heaven, and He will visibly return in glory. This will take place according to His promise, He will reign on earth as King and Lord.

Salvation

◊ Romans 5:1
◊ Romans 6:23
◊ Ephesians 2:8-9
◊ John 14:6 & 1:12
◊ Titus 3:5
◊ Galatians 3:26

Salvation is a gift from God to man. Man can never earn salvation by self-improvement, good works or by being a "good person". Only by man trusting in Jesus Christ as God's offer of forgiveness can man be saved from sin's penalty. In This process acknowledging his sinfulness, and repenting of those sins. Eternal life begins the moment one receives Jesus Christ as savior into his life by faith. We are saved by grace through faith, therefore no one can make the claim that it was their own actions that saved them.

The Holy Spirit

◊ II Corinthians 3:17
◊ John 16:7-13 & 14:16-17
◊ Acts 1:8
◊ I Corinthians 2:12 &3:16
◊ Ephesians 1:13
◊ Galatians 5:25
◊ Ephesians 5:18

The Holy Spirit is equal with the Father and the Son as God. He is present in the world to make men aware of their need for the savior, Jesus Christ. He also lives in every believer from the moment of them sincerely accepting Jesus as their Lord and Savior, providing the believer with power for living, understanding of spiritual truth, and guidance in doing what is right. The Holy Spirit also empowers the believer to fulfill their God given purpose in the Earth.

The Bible

◊ II Timothy 3:16-17
◊ II Peter 1:20-21
◊ II Timothy 1:13
◊ Psalm 119:105,160 &12:6
◊ Proverbs 30:5

We believe that "all Scripture is given by inspiration of God," by which we understand the whole Bible is inspired in the sense that men "were moved by the Holy Spirit" to write the very words of Scripture. We believe that this divine inspiration extends equally and fully to all parts of the writings–historical, poetical, doctrinal, and prophetical–as appeared in the original manuscripts. The Bible is completely trustworthy in all areas in which it speaks, and as the source of truth to be used as mankind’s instruction manual for living. It is not simply another good book, but one that was created to come alive in the heart and life of the reader when mixed with faith.
